Nordic Republicans’ President visited the famous Icehotel in Sweden
Nordic Republicans’ President Lauren Ell visited Sweden’s world famous Icehotel located in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden, on December 28, 2018.
Ell shared detail about her experience..
This was my second time visiting the exotic location, and I loved it! The Icehotel features a structure made out of ice that has been rebuilt every winter for over 30 years. The structure contains rooms that have custom-made ice sculptures designed by artists from all over the world. Additionally there is a permanent structure that maintains freezing temperatures year round so guests can visit no matter what time of year it is.
Visitors have the option to stay stay overnight in the rooms and sleep in a comfortable bed with warm reindeer hides. There are also warm cabins available for those who want to explore the area but prefer to sleep in a warmer indoor climate.
Guests can enjoy all kinds of amazing activities that reflect the Lapland culture, such as dog sledding, snowmobiling, ice sculpting and more. There is also an Icebar where visitors can purchase alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Temperatures typically vary between -1C to -40C. Be sure to bundle up with super warm clothing so you can be outside for an extended period of time. Warm boots, ski pants, a thick jacket, hat, and gloves are recommended. I even encourage you to bring warmers to fit into your shoes or gloves, because freezing toes and fingers can be terrible! There is a warm lounge you can spend time in to warm up if you begin to freeze.
I highly recommend visiting the Icehotel and surrounding areas. It is an amazing location! You are welcome to email me at info[at]nordicrepublicans.com if you would like more information.
