Negative feedback regarding American Club of Sweden

We recently received a complaint from an American who attended an event hosted by American Club of Sweden in Stockholm to recognize newly installed US Ambassador to Sweden, Christine Toretti.

The complaint noted that a top board member of the club had made disrespectful comments towards Toretti upon introducing her to the audience. This person also mentioned that she did not feel the club has acted in good faith in regards to representing Americans in Sweden.

We wanted to share this incident with the public because we have also acknowledged that American Club of Sweden does not represent Americans well in Sweden. The group operates solely in Stockholm and does not make effort to reach Americans outside of the area despite Americans living throughout the country.

On a final note, American Club of Sweden has also not responded to our emails in the past so we consider their communication to be poor.
